It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of one of our students. Ethan Rose and his mother tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Wednesday evening. Ethan was a Southern Local student going into his senior year. He was excelling in his full time college credit plus courses. Ethan will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by his classmates, teachers, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our hearts go out to his family and friends as they navigate this heartbreaking loss. We also offer our heartfelt condolences and support to his brother, Donovan Rose, a recent graduate of Southern High School. Please keep the Rose family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Students wanting to talk with someone, please reach out to the school. Hopewell counselors will be providing free services at the school on Friday the 6th of June. They will be located in the Kathryn Hart Center from 8-2pm. No appointment necessary. School counselors, Mr. Russ Fields (8:30am to noon) and Mrs. Olivia Hawley (8am to 2pm) will also be available.
