Voluntary conditioning for cross country begins next week Monday-Friday from 8-9:30 a.m. We will meet down at the Park. Mandatory practices beginning July 31 will also meet from 8-9:30 at the Park.
Summer Academy
Chad Miller from Project Rise came to teach the students about different types of bridges, why they are important to the economy, and the Silver Bridge disaster. Students competed to see which group could build the strongest bridge.
Summer Academy update:
4th 5th and 6th grade making bird houses
Reminder that there is no Summer Academy tomorrow, Monday June 19th.
SLSD Summer Academy:
4th graders discover nature with the help of Meigs Soil and Water.
Last week, Summer Academy students got started on their adventures. Students are participating in many activity, such as building tents, making sundials, going on a safari, taking a cross country trip, and scavenging like pirates! The Meigs County District Public Library visited, and completed a STEM challenge where students built foil boats and tested how much weight they would hold. Nurse Nikki with Coplin Clinic visited classrooms as well to promote health and wellness. We have 3 more weeks with many fun activities planned!
5th and 6th grade SLSD Summer Academy update
Students are enjoying a camping theme with boat and shelter building.
Southern Football Helmet Fitting is THIS THURSDAY June 8,2023
Varsity needs to report at 3:45pm, helmet fitting at 4 pm
Junior High needs to report at 4:15pm with helmet fitting at 4:30

Tecumseh Trip
Mr Maxson is planning to take his annual trip to see Tecumseh. The outdoor historical drama in Chillicothe, Oh. If you are interested see the attached information for details and email Mr. Maxson at David.maxson@southernlocal.net.
