Southern High School ninth grade English students wrote argumentative research papers in favor of an artist of their choice to be inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. Once the papers were written, they were hand-delivered to the nominating committee at the Rock Hall in Cleveland, Ohio as an official submission. Students then created a museum display to artistically represent the main points of their arguments. Collectively, students showed their displays at the “Not” in the Rock Hall Museum Day. Here are a few photos of some of the fantastic work that the students did.

Southern Local School District will host a Community Connections Game Night on April 4th during parent-teacher conferences from 3:30-6:30pm. We are currently looking for local agencies, businesses/business owners, and organizations to set up at the school and play a game with families while providing them with information about services and resources avaliable to them, such as mental health serivces, job opportunities, career guidance, and behavioral health services. We are looking for food trucks to set up in the parking lot for families to grab dinner on their way out. If you or your agency/business is interested in setting up to connect with Southern Local families during this time, please click the following link to fill out the form.
