Our Pop Tab Challenge winner is Mrs. Rose’s class! 🎉 During National FFA Week, students at Southern Local were challenged by the FFA to collect pop tabs to support a great cause. Mrs. Rose’s class went above and beyond by filling one large black trash bag full of tabs on their own, while the rest of the school combined filled one large bag. That is some impressive teamwork! All of the tabs collected will be taken this spring to the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Pop tabs are recycled for their aluminum, and the money raised helps support families who have children receiving medical care. These funds help provide things like housing, meals, and other resources so families can stay close to their children during difficult times. As a reward for their hard work, Mrs. Rose’s class enjoyed a well-deserved donut party this morning! 🍩 Thank you to everyone who helped collect tabs and support such an important cause! ❤️💙💛

We’re excited to share an incredible STEM opportunity for our students!

The B-WISER Science Camp at The College of Wooster will be held June 15–20, 2026. This residential camp is open to:
Middle school girls (grades 7–8)
High school girls (grades 9–10)

Campers participate in hands-on, team-taught science courses with full laboratory experiences in physics, chemistry, biology, and more. In addition to daily academic programming, students engage in engineering activities, light and wave experiments, and college readiness seminars.

Financial aid scholarships are available but limited.

Congratulations to our 1st year FFA members who placed 5th in the STATE for the Online Greenhand Exam CDE!! With Jessica Snoke placing 27th individually out of 3,421 kids.

Southern High School’s Girls’ Basketball season came to an end last night in the OHSAA Girls Basketball Tournament against Whiteoak High School. While the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, we are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and heart these student-athletes and coaches showed all season long.
