If you are going the traditional route from Southern (route 7 to 50 to 339), You need to be through Barlow prior to 5:45 (shut down the road at this time for Parade at 6 pm).
If you are going through Marietta route (Route 7 to Marietta and then 60 passes Fort Frye), you need to be through Fort Frye prior to 5 (parade at 5:30pm). OR after 6:15pm (assuming parade is over then)

Southern Local Schools Announce Homecoming Week Activities, Pep Rally and Parade
RACINE, OH — Southern Local Schools are celebrating Homecoming Week this week with a variety of themed dress-up days, student activities, and community events leading up to Friday night’s Homecoming football game.
Southern students completed their Service and Awareness Week activities last week. Additional information and highlights from those activities will be included in a final Homecoming Week feature.
Homecoming Week Activities
Students will participate in the following themed dress-up days and planned activities throughout the week:
Monday – Sports Day- Planned Activity: Two-Hour Delay
Tuesday – Clone Day- Planned Activity: Knockout
Wednesday – White Lies Day- Planned Activity: Class Dodgeball
Thursday – Class Color Day- Planned Activity: Powderpuff Football
7th Grade – Blue
8th Grade – Pink
9th Grade – Red
10th Grade – Gray
11th Grade – White
12th Grade – Black
Friday – Spirit Day: Purple & Gold- Planned Activity: Volleyball
District-Wide Pep Rally and Homecoming Parade
The excitement will continue Friday with the District-Wide Student Pep Rally beginning at 1:00 p.m. The pep rally will be followed by Southern’s annual Homecoming Parade at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Community groups and organizations interested in participating in the parade are welcome to join the celebration. No political groups, messages, or political materials will be permitted in the parade.
Parade participants should arrive at the school and be in their designated lineup area no later than 1:00 p.m.
Parents and guardians should contact their student’s respective school office for information regarding the regulations and requirements for students participating in the parade, including procedures for students who will be leaving school following the parade.
Homecoming Game and Dance
The 2026 Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during halftime of Friday night’s football game.
The Homecoming festivities will conclude Saturday evening with the Southern High School Homecoming Dance, which will be held from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

This Friday, September 25th, students can purchase Spirit Gear and get Face Paint done during the school day to get hyped for Homecoming.
The Southern Band Boosters will ALSO be selling all Spirit Gear at the Homecoming Football Game Friday night, so you can stock up before kickoff and support the band at the same time.
