January is School Board Recognition Month, and Southern Local celebrated the board members for their dedication and commitment to the district at the board
meeting on January 13.School board members play a vital role in shaping the future
of education in our community. Their decisions impact every student, classroom, staff,
and community. School board members serve as a critical link between the community and the classroom. They are elected to establish policies that provide the framework for public education. The Southern Local board is responsible for an annual budget of $19.4 million dollars, 655 students, and 101 employees.
