Middleport — The Meigs County Chamber Student Ambassadors are making a real difference this winter—one hoodie, coat, and care item at a time.

During the meeting on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the Blakeslee Center in Middleport, the ambassadors sorted more than 300 donated winter clothing and hygiene items to support male students at Eastern, Southern, and Meigs High Schools.
The donations were evenly divided among the three schools and included essential items such as razors, shampoo, body wash, shaving cream, and hooded sweatshirts.

Organizers say the need is especially great for hooded sweatshirts and winter coats for young men, and community support is more important than ever.

“This initiative shows what can happen when students and the community come together—something as simple as a hoodie or coat can make a real difference in a young person’s comfort, confidence, and ability to focus on school,” said Mrs. Susan White, Meigs County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.

This effort is being led by dedicated student ambassadors:
Murphy Dunfee (Southern High School)
Ava Buckley, Natalie Goode, Blake Folmer, and Caden O’Neil (Meigs High School)
Derrick Barnes (Eastern High School)
