RACINE, Ohio — The cameras were rolling—and the gratitude was overflowing—as Southern Local students and staff shared heartfelt reflections on what they’re thankful for this year.
Across all grade levels, a common theme emerged: appreciation for the people who make their days brighter. Many expressed deep gratitude for their families and friends, while others took time to honor the dedication of the nurses, administration, teachers, custodians, bus drivers, counselors, and kitchen staff who keep the school running with care and commitment.
Students also shared personal joys and meaningful comforts that enrich their lives—everything from food, pop-its, and pets to having a safe place to call home. Some expressed thanks for their faith, moments of kindness, and the support systems that help them grow.
