STORM Students of the Month

K-3 Student: John Morris
John is a remarkably kind and caring young student. He is a true friend to everyone he meets, and he consistently demonstrates respect for his classmates and teachers. John arrives each day ready to learn, always on time, and always with a positive attitude. His enthusiasm and character make a meaningful difference in our classroom every single day. John is an outstanding Storm student his teacher feels very fortunate to have him in her class.

4-6 Student: Lauren Brandal
Lauren is an exceptionally respectful and hardworking student. She consistently puts forth her best effort in everything she does and her dedication to her education truly shows. Lauren is a genuinely kind person, a phenomenal friend, and a great listener. She is attentive, encouraging to her classmates, and consistently chooses to do what is right. Lauren is a shining example of leadership and character in our school community.
Southern Jr./Sr. High Students of the Month

7-9 Student: Kamryn Hupp
Kamryn Hupp is a truly deserving choice for Student of the Month. She consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a sincere dedication to doing her best in everything she takes on. Kamryn comes to school prepared, engaged, and ready to contribute meaningful insights to any learning environment. She shows great respect for both her peers and her teachers, treating everyone with kindness and maturity. Kamryn has shown steady academic growth and continually strives to reach her full potential. Her positive attitude, responsibility, and genuine enthusiasm for learning make her a pleasure to have in our school and an excellent example of what it means to be a Southern student.

10-12 Student: Josalyn Lavender
Josalyn is a student who consistently comes prepared, focused, and ready to learn. Throughout this year, she has truly distinguished herself as a supportive peer, a reliable partner, and a positive presence in the classroom. She encourages others during group work, offers help when classmates need support, and actively includes everyone in discussions and problem-solving. Josalyn’s leadership and compassion were especially evident when a new student in her class expressed concerns about joining a group she was in and she was the first to offer reassurance, advice, and a warm welcome. Her maturity, kindness, and willingness to lift up those around her make Josalyn an outstanding example of what it means to be a Southern student.
Teacher of the Month

Amy Roush
Amy exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding educator at Southern. She consistently motivates students to challenge themselves and take pride in their learning. Her professionalism and dedication shine through in everything she does—from the thoughtful support she provides students to the strong, caring relationships she builds with both students and colleagues. Amy leads with integrity and is a true team player, always willing to lend a hand, collaborate, and share ideas that strengthen our school community. Her positive energy and unwavering commitment make her a highly deserving choice for Southern Local's Teacher of the Month.

Topics included: Strengthening Agriculture, Building Communities, and Growing Leaders FFA Officers presenting: Wyatt Smith, Marcy Evans, Skyler Allen, Will Smith, and Hunter Jarrell.
