On Thursday, the Southern Football Seniors paid tribute to five members of our staff who’ve made a meaningful impact on their lives. Each senior selected a staff member and surprised them with a personal invitation to this week’s Homecoming game. The honored staff were genuinely moved by the gesture and are looking forward to cheering on the team this week.

Jake Wickline presented his to Mr. Zach and Mrs. Katie Ash:
Thank you for teaching me so many lessons. You’ve taught me respect, character, and you pushed me to do my best in school. You’ve always showed me love and support since I was young. Thank you for being the best babysitters and endless great memories of all of us. I would love to have you at our homecoming game against Belpre this Friday. Make sure to wear black! Love, Jake #21”

The staff members were surprised and overjoyed with this surprise. Mr. Whitlock expressed the following sentiment. " I can't explain how honored I felt. I told Nate how good that made me feel and how a simple gesture could mean so much. "
“Over the past four years these young men have grown tremendously,” said Coach Cassady Willford. “Because of what they did on Thursday, this will establish a heartwarming tradition celebrating the strong bonds between our student-athletes and the dedicated staff who support them.”
