Southern Elementary Student of Month (Grades K-2)

Zoey

Zoey Ross: Zoey was nominated for her remarkable ability to be a positive, supportive, and kind classmate. She consistently brings a cheerful attitude to school, serving as a ray of sunshine for both her peers and teachers. In addition to being a role model within the classroom, Zoey can often be found offering help and encouragement to students throughout the building. Her optimism is truly contagious, and we are grateful to have her as a valued member of our school! 


Southern Elementary Student of the Month (Grades 4-6)

Hannah

Hannah Salisbury: Hannah is one of the hardest working students in 6th grade. She always gives 100% on every test, assignment or project. She consistently has a smile on her face and is excited to learn new information. She is kind to all other students and always follows the school’s expectations and rules. Hannah is always willing to lend a helping hand if needed. In the classroom, Hannah is also one of most talented writing students in the 6th grade, her teacher said, “I get excited to read her writing and see how much she grows each time.” Hannah is a model student both inside the classroom and out! 

Southern High School Student of the Month (Grades 7-9)

Garret

Garrett Beasley: Garrett is new to the Southern Local School District and has welcomed the challenges of being a new student with a positive spirit and a bold eagerness to learn. Garrett has been a great addition to our Southern Family. He is always willing to help others. He shows kindness to his peers every day and is always respectful to everyone he encounters. His decision to join the football team shows his increasing involvement and commitment to the school community, which makes us really proud. We are so glad Garrett is a Southern Tornado! 

Southern High School Student of the Month (Grades 10-12)

Emma

Emma Owens: As a junior, Emma has really taken a greater ownership of her learning by putting in consistent effort and pushing herself to do her best. She has made noticeable progress in how she communicates with her peers and teachers and does a great job making up any work that she has missed. Emma is actively challenging herself in her classes which has led to noticeable growth in both her confidence and skills. Emma is kind and supportive of everyone she works with. Emma’s work ethic and character shine as an example to others! 

Southern High School Teacher of the Month

Mrs. Ash

Mrs. Katie Ash: Katie consistently goes above and beyond in her service to our school community. She is admired and appreciated by both students and staff for her positivity and willingness to support others. Whether assisting a colleague, administrator, parent, or PTO member, Katie is always ready to lend a helping hand… and always does so with a smile. Beyond her classroom, she actively contributes to school-wide initiatives such as Math Night, Literacy Night, and the Angel Tree Project. In the classroom, she challenges her students to achieve their personal best while creating an engaging and enjoyable learning environment. Katie’s dedication to her profession and her genuine care for her students are evident in all that she does. We are so grateful to have Katie on our team! 

Southern High School Staff Member of the Month

Ms. Fisher

Ms. Jodi Fisher: Jodi is an exceptionally patient and caring paraprofessional in the preschool classroom. She approaches each day with compassion and a calm presence, always going above and beyond to support both students and staff. Jodi’s kindness, approachability, and willingness to step in wherever needed make her an invaluable member of our team. Students adore her, and her colleagues deeply appreciate her thoughtful support. She adapts easily to change and consistently offers helpful suggestions that benefit the classroom as a whole. We are truly grateful for her dedication and the positive impact she brings each day!
