RACINE, OH- Southern Local High School announced their 2023 Homecoming Court. They are: kindergarten crown and flower bearer, Karoline Eastman and Shay Holsinger; seventh grade class representative Reba Harmon; eight grade representative, Isabella Morrison: ninth grade representative, Molly Haye: tenth grade representative, Taylor Tucker: and eleventh grade representative, Amanti Hayes. The Queen candidates are: Gracie Hill, Ava Roush, Kamry Roush, Christina Smith, and Lauren Smith. King candidates are: Isaiah Barton, Jacoby Hall, Jace Hill, Dylan Hupp, and Aaron Vance. The King and Queen will be crowned this Friday, October 6 at halftime of the Southern vs Belpre football game.
Last week students participated in service week where they had a Penny Wars (goal of $300), Mad Hatters event (goal of $175), and a food drive (goal of 500 items). The student council set goals for each of these and surpassed all goals ($605.98, $253, and 747 items respectively). The money raised during service week will be sent to the Leukemia Society and the food drive items will go to local food banks.
This week during Spirit Week, students will participate in the following activities: daily themed dress days, ultimate soccer, class dodgeball, powderpuff football, men’s volleyball, district pep rally and a parade through Racine (Friday 10/6/23) at approximately 2:15.
