Racine, Ohio- At tonight’s Southern Local Board of Education Meeting, two "STORM" (elementary) students were recognized.  These students were:

Skylar Willis - 2nd Grade - Nominated by Ashley Zilenski

Skylar is the definition of a STORM student! She consistently models self-control for her classmates. Making the right choice comes naturally to her. Skylar always shows she is ready to learn. She takes the initiative to have everything ready for each lesson. She is also a very kind and helpful friend to her peers. Any time someone needs assistance, she is quick to offer a helping hand. She works hard every day to make a positive difference in the classroom. Skylar Willis is a wonderful STORM student!

Jovi Wolfe - 6th Grade - Nominated by Autumn Lisle

Jovi is a true Southern Elementary STORM Student. She always follows the expectations set for her. She completes all of her work and will step up to help any other students who need it. Jovi isn’t afraid of tough work either. When given any assignment, she works at it with a mindset of capability because she will work until she has figured it out. Jovi can always be counted on to help in the classroom with any task. She is kind to all students and always has a smile on her face. Jovi Wolfe is a STORM Student.

After recognizing the “STORM “students, the Board of Education recognized the 7-12 Students of the Month. They were:

Caden Hupp- 9th Grade- Nominated by Courtney Manuel

I am nominating Caden Hupp for student of the month because of his excellence in classwork and respectful nature. Caden consistently works hard in class and strives to not only learn the material but strives for a deeper understanding of the course content. He is dedicated to a high level of academic success and works hard to attain his goals. Caden also consistently shows respect for his teachers and peers alike. Caden is an exemplary student who meets every criterion in the tornado code.

Jesse Caldwell- 12th Grade Nominated by Brian Allen

Jesse always shows up and does his best. He is extremely friendly and gets along with everybody. He's the kind of kid that you wish you had an entire classroom full of. I've worked with him for several years now and I've never seen him in a bad mood or having a bad day. Jesse was not able to make it to the meeting for a picture.

Students were presented a certificate and $10 from Home National Bank President, Mr. Hoback. Congratulations students and thank you to Home National Bank.
