Our 4th-grade students were treated to an America 250 event hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Chester Shade Historical Society  at the Chester Courthouse this week. They enjoyed hearing from living history reenactors and our State Representative, Kevin Ritter.

The students enjoyed seeing  items from long ago!   The kids enjoyed the old money, the kitchen utensils, and pieces from the war.

Our high school history teacher, Jordan Pickens, portrayed Elbridge Gerry — an American Founding Father, merchant, politician, and diplomat who served as the fifth Vice President of the United States. Gerry also owned land along the Ohio River that eventually became Pomeroy.
