I graduated from Ohio University in 2016 with my Bachlors in AYA Mathematics Education and a minor in Diversity Studies. While in college I participated in the C.A.R.E. Partnership which gave me the opportunity to teach in a neighboring school district and learn all about what it means to teach in SE Ohio. Also while in college I was able to be apart of and President of the math teaching organization OUCTM where I was on the executive board all 4 years. Aside from academic involvement I was also apart of the Club Women's Crew team and the Club Women's Water Polo team. I am originally from Canton, OH and have been living in SE Ohio ever since I decided OU was the school for me. This will be my year fourth at Southern High School in the Mathematics Department. I am also involved in the school as Junior High Track and Field Coach.
What I Expect:
I expect a great deal from my students when it comes to my classroom. I expect students to come to my class prepared everyday, which includes: behaviorally, personally, and through their hard work toward their grades. Students should come class prepared to work hard toward everything we do, but should remember that math means trying things out and not always getting it right or perfect the first time. I am honestly here to help all student succeed and do their best.
Each student will receive a syllabus the first day of class along with the rules and grading scale that i will be using in my classroom. Each student is expected to take the syllabus home to share with their parent/guardian to get it signed and bring back into school the next day for their first assignment.
I will be keeping everything updated as far as grades doing weekly inputs during the weekend and having tests and quizzes graded and handed back as soon as students have finished taking them.
