About Southern Local Schools

Southern Local School District is comprised of  Lebanon, Letart, and Sutton townships. In 1950, Southern Local was used as the official name.  For many years the district was Southern Rural School District.  Over the years, the district has established a tradition of academic and athletic excellence. The district is governed by a Board of Education which is comprised of five elected officials on staggered four year terms.
