Southern Local After School Program

"Leave No Doubt"

What is the Mission and Philosophy of the After School Program?
The students, staff, and community, through enhanced communication will work together to improve the academic achievement, the attendance, the completion of homework, and the behavior of all students attending the after school program. The following GOALS must be addressed and met.
¨ 95% Attendance Rate
¨ 85% of students will stay on green/yellow or have less than 2 detentions
¨ 85% of students will complete all homework assignments
¨ 85% of students will perform at or above the proficient level on tested state indicators
¨ 100% of students will take an appropriate level of responsibility for their own education
The After School program will help to achieve the goals set by Southern Local in assisting students in weak academic areas, helping with homework assignments, preparing students for state exams, and teaching children to be proud of themselves and their successes. All program activities are age appropriate and based on each student’s developmental level.
