Gary D. Evans Board Member 740-843-5116
Mr. Evans graduated from Southern Local in 1966.  He is a Vietnam veteran having served a tour of duty from 1968 to 1969.  Additionally, Mr. Evans has served on the Southern Local Board of Education for 19 years (1974-1993).  Mr. Evans retired from Southern Ohio Coal Company after 30 years of service.  He resides in Portland with his wife, Linda.  Mr. Evans has three children, all of whom have graduated from the district:  Becky, Michael, and Jamie.  He has six grandchildren.  Mr. Evans presented district superintendent, Tony Deem, with his diploma in 1984.
